The Lone Star Flight Museum contains over 30 rare planes which have made wartime and commercial history, including pilot memorabilia and gripping accounts by our war veteran heroes. take your time touring through all the fascinating planes and exhibits, which also includes the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame. Tributes are made to the infamous, and those who later became famous who served in WWII. In addition to planes, see old jeeps, trucks, bicycles, model warships, and browse the gift shop area. A must see for the family is a visit to the elaborate Moody Gardens, with pyramids housing an array of wildlife, featuring a 1.5 million gallon aquarium, an IMAX theatre, scientific exhibits, and rainforests. The grounds also include gardens, a sandy beach, dining, and a hotel. If you are able during your stay on the island, visit the NOAA Sea Turtle Facility, to learn of conservation efforts with the area turtles. Visits are available during scheduled times on Tuesday and Thursday, by appointment only.
