Delgadillo's Snow Cap along Route 66
by Carl Burnham
Juan Delgadillo was a welcome icon on Route 66, the Mother Road, that keeps bringing people back to experience a slice of the way it was. So I was sad to hear when I got an email from his niece with Route66giftshops.com mentioning that he had passed away 3 years ago at the age of 88. I treasure his business card which reads on one side with an image of him and an old gas pump -
"Eat here and get gas"
"Slightly used napkins and straws"
I agreed with what she said that, "I'm sure he is making God and the Angel's laugh up a storm!" Cousins now run the Snow Cap, keeping on a tradition of service, with jokes to make your journey a fun one along your Route 66 adventure. If you have a chance to get off Interstate 40 between Williams and Kingman while going through Arizona to see the Grand Canyon, stop in and get an ice cream and spend some time walking around and say hello to the zany folks in Seligman.

Tallulah River Resort in the
North Georgia Mountains
Arizona
the Grand Canyon State
Featuring the top destinations visited by staff around the Grand Canyon state:
Upon visiting the Grand
Canyon area for the first time, it's sheer magnitude can
be overwhelming. Careful planning is needed to in order to make best use of your time. Our visits have taken us to the South Rim, Havasupai Indian Reservation to the West, and the North Rim. The North Rim, less visited by tourists, offers many vantage points to see into the Canyon. Join us as we drive along the Cape Royal area at the North Rim to view Angel's Windows, which has a natural limestone arch.
At Grand Canyon Lodge, which is directly on the edge of the North Rim, you can see out large viewing windows at the panoramic landscape. Mule rides are popular on both rims for a half day or all day rides (plan well ahead before you go). At Williams,
where we stayed at the RV
Railside Ranch Campground along Route 66, are numerous
old motels, businesses and an historic downtown
area.

Journey with us along the Mother Road, as we experience an authentic slice of America the way it used to be.

Quartzsite, AZ
The sunsets here have to be experienced first-hand to fully appreciate. In February each year, Quartzsite hosts the world's largest outdoor flea market, with huge gatherings of RVers. For the scenery, the people, and the sites, Quartzsite is a one-of-a-kind piece of Americana.
