As part of the Kimpton line of unique boutique hotels and restaurants, the Hotel Palomar is located on Mockingbird Lane in the Park Cities neighborhood just southeast of Southern Methodist University and includes a total of 198 smoke-free guest rooms and suites ranging in size from 325 sq. ft. all the way to a 1,500 sq. ft. Presidential Suite. My favorite place to be was the outdoor pool area with cabanas, hot tub and refreshing infinity pool with disappearing edge.

The guest rooms are designed with warm soothing natural colors and appointed for relaxation with modern amenities including 32" flat screen plasma TVs with cable and Nintendo, DVD/CD players, radio/alarm clocks with iHome Docking stations. Other standard items included are a stocked mini fridge, in-room safe (large enough for notebook), padded headboards, iron and ironing board and hairdryer. Relax in a unique designer bathrobe with Zebra stripes and enjoy the hotel's L'Occitane bath amenities. Known as "women's gold," the Shea Butter Collection by L'Occitane ingredients are derived from the Shea trees of West Africa. Great for pampering your hair and skin.

Like to stay up on the latest news? Just request your preferred newspaper and it will be waiting at your door in the morning. Forget your toothbrush? No problem. Room Service is readily available 24 hours a day, with menu selections also available from the restaurant downstairs.

Our King Deluxe room on the 9th floor included a comfy bed with ample pillows, and a relaxing decor with window views of the Dallas skyline. Through the Kimpton InTouch Guest Loyalty program, you have access to complimentary wireless/wired Internet access. Through the Kimpton InTouch program you can build up points towards free stays and other perks. With the new "Raid the mini-bar" program you can select up to $10 free from your in-room mini-bar.

Complimentary coffee and tea is served every morning from 6 to 10 am in the lobby area. Every evening from 5 to 6 pm, guests can enjoy a "Wines Around the World" reception. A 24 hour fitness center on the 2nd floor provides you with equipment for a full cardio-aerobics workout, including free-weights, treadmills, stationary bike, and elliptical machines. Joggers can take advantage of the Katy Trail nearby. After getting a workout refresh in the heated infinity pool and hot tub (from 6 am till 10 pm) or get a treatment in the Exhale Spa. The Central 214 restaurant provides an interesting range of American dishes and is open from Monday thru Friday for breakfast at 7 am (Sunday brunch at 8:30 am), with lunch served from 11:30 to 2:30 pm and dinner served beginning at 5 pm. The bar and lounge are generally open till 1:30 am on weekends.

For meetings, weddings, or other special events, the Hotel Palomar has four meeting rooms available to utilize 9,000 sq. ft. (which all includes wireless Internet access). On the 2nd floor there is also a 24 hour business center allowing guests with a Windows or Mac computer, Internet access, and a color printer. Valet parking is available separately at $20 nightly.

The Hotel Palomar is pet friendly, with a water dish welcoming your pet at the entrance. You can even have a goldfish for you in your room if you get lonely (one is named Henry VIII).
