Alaska...the Land of the Midnight Sun
Featuring the top attractions visited by staff around the state:
Riverboat Discovery, Fairbanks, AK
The Binkley family has operated sternwheel riverboats since the Gold Rush of 1898 in Alaska. That's quite a tradition. Four decks allow great views from the sternwheeler along the Chena River. Our riverboat stopped by the house of Susan Butcher, 4 time winner of the 1,100 mile Iditarod dog-sled race. Little did we know that she would pass away so soon.
The riverboat also visited a native indian fish camp where we could see a fish smoke house and salmon drying on racks out in the sun.

We took a majestic flightseeing tour of Mount McKinley and land on Ruth Glacier. This scenic 1-1/2 hour flight tour overlooks the Susitna Range, with views of Mount McKinley from the south. We also explored the rustic town of Talkeetna, and could still see old miners' cabins along the main street. Read more of our flight

Phillip's 26 Glacier Tour, Whittier, AK
The Phillip's cruise line pioneered the glacier tour of Prince William Sound more than 45 years ago. We took a 4 hour tour on a large high-speed catamaran. The area around Whittier provides spectacular views.
Prince William Sound Wilderness Explorer Cruise,
Whittier, AK
In a remote setting, the cruise provides ample opportunity for reflection and to see Alaska wildlife up close and glaciers calving into the water.
