Situated in the historic city of Shreveport and Bossier City, this
KOA provides a relaxing Southern
stay with lots of amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Several pine trees around the campground provide lots of shade
near RV pullthroughs, Tent sites, and Cabins. RV pullthroughs have 50
amp service available at the site, with free telephone service and
wireless Internet access. Large RV pull throughs are available, up to 95
feet long.
Some
RV pullthroughs include a hot tub, perfect for relaxationafter a long
day on the road. There is a stocked
fishing pond. Pets are welcome, with a designated walking area
on the property. A large recreation hall pavilion can accommodate group
meetings, which includes an exercise area.
Within the office area, there is a large grocery area, a game
room with pool table, and friendly staff (Tracey and Beth).
Outside, there is a playground for the kids, with nearby
swimming pool (open from May 1st - September 30), hot tub, and sauna.
We stayed in a large chalet, complete with linens, large
kitchen, three-bedrooms, two bathrooms, and living room, perfect for a
family getaway or small group. Other chalets are available in one or
two-bedroom size.
Several enhancements have been made to the campground since our last
visit several years ago in our RV. There is plenty to do while in
Shreveport, making it a perfect stop during your travels. Try your luck
at one of the riverboat casinos, horseracing at Louisiana Downs, or
enjoy some Southern cooking at one of many fine restaurants. Visit some
of the many historic landmarks around the city, 2nd only to New Orleans
in the state. An extensive collection of Frederic Remington’s paintings
are housed at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery. The American Rose Center is
here, which is the largest rose park in the country.
