The Melita House is situated in an ideal location within walking distance of several major London attractions such as the Tate Britain Museum, Westminster Cathedral, the House of Parliament, and a less than 10 minute walk to nearby Pimlico or Victoria Tube Stations.
A former residential neighborhood, many buildings in the Victoria area date to the 1800s. The owner, Robert Gabriele, a London native, offered friendly advice for seeing the many nearby sights, and speaks several languages fluently.
Standard for all rooms are private bath with shower, hairdryer, a small refrigerator, television with satellite channels, radio with alarm, digital room safe, telephone with direct dial, secure card locks, and modem connection. The size of each room varies, ranging from single, double, twin, or family sized beds.
The twenty-two guest rooms have recently been renovated, and our room was right by the street and next to the lounge area. Wireless Internet and modem access points are available throughout for you to connect via your enabled laptop. The lounge area is equipped with a couch, chairs, magazines, and flat screen plasma television.
From the dining room you can enjoy a relaxing English breakfast which comes standard with your room, served daily from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Our breakfast included eggs (served to your liking), English bacon, sausage, tomato, toast, orange marmalade, orange juice, and coffee. The dining area is decorated in cheerful colors of yellow and blue, paintings, overhead chandelier, and flat screen plasma television in case you want to catch up on the morning news.
Rates range from $129 to $261 (£69 to £139 GBP) a night for a guest room, depending on size of room and the season (rates are subject to change without notice).
We would like to thank the Melita House for assisting with our feature.
