Historic Preservation + New Renovations: the Magnolia Hotel in Dallas
Our upcoming new Feature Accommodation is the famed Magnolia Hotel in
Dallas which just completed a recent $3 million renovation of 330 guest
rooms, the Magnolia Club, public areas, and meeting spaces.
Built in
1922, it was the first high-rise building in the United States to be
furnished with air conditioning and is the first Dallas skyscraper over
400-feet high. The Magnolia Hotel is to be commended for helping to
preserve the rich heritage of downtown areas by being situated in
historic landmark buildings in Dallas, Houston, Denver, and Omaha.
The
famous flying red horse oil company sign stil shines above the 29-story
hotel which originally housed the Magnolia Petroleum Company when built
back in 1922.
Situated just across the street from the downtown
boutique hotel in the historic Dallas Power & Light Building is the
Pegasus Room ballroom. The Magnolia Hotel has updated the expansive
3,500 square foot ballroom with multi-colored lighting underneath
impressive 18-foot ceilings and one-of-a-kind chandeliers, a perfect
location for that special event.
We are proud to be featuring the
Magnolia Hotel in Dallas soon.
As
part of a small group of upscale hotels located in historic buildings,
the Magnolia
Hotel has locations in Dallas, Houston,
Omaha, and Denver.
Visiting Houston soon? Read about our recent visit
to the Magnolia
Hotel in Houston which includes a distinctive rooftop swimming pool.
