His plan was also highlighted in an article he did in the Wall Street Journal. Here's a snippet.
"One of the benefits of being around a long time is that you get to know a lot about certain things. I'm 80 years old and I've been an oilman for almost 60 years. I've drilled more dry holes and also found more oil than just about anyone in the industry. With all my experience, I've never been as worried about our energy security as I am now. Like many of us, I ignored what was happening. Now our country faces what I believe is the most serious situation since World War II." - T. Boone Pickens

An active energy policy is long overdue in this country to get us back on track to controlling our future. As we are developing alternative sources of energy, we should open up areas of the country that have the most potential for oil production, both offshore and the barren Northern coast of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Members of the House GOP are now refusing to go home for their paid vacations to demand that a vote be allowed on drilling of domestic oil (which a majority of Americans support in numerous polls) to help alleviate our foreign dependence on oil while renewables are being developed.

Take a look at this video to see what our dependence on foreign oil has done to make Dubai in the United Arab Emirates the fastest growing city on the planet today.

This includes the world's largest theme park (twice the size of Disneyworld), numerous mega-hotels, the tallest buildings, huge manmade islands, and those are just starting points to a huge metropolis...
